What is the Essence Based Leadership Certification (EBLC)?

The EBLC is a comprehensive leadership development program designed to overcome the limitations of traditional and online training. Drawing on the latest research and best practices from the field, as well as the extensive experience of its creator, Ian Hatton, the EBLC offers a multimodal methodology that delivers immediate, cumulative and lasting leadership growth — and results.

The Certification taps the power of 10 online micro-learning modules, reflective journalling, 6 live online workshops, as well as an entry and exit assessment with in-depth reporting to measure outcomes. In addition to their documented online work, participants submit a culminating reflexive report and leadership storytelling video to qualify for certification in the live online graduation ceremony. A vibrant online community supports participants throughout the program and, through our global Totally Morpheus Alumni Network, upon graduation.

How does the EBLC differ from other leadership development training and academic programs?

While Essence Based Leadership draws on knowledge of leading research in the field, the human element of leading from Essence sets the EBLC apart. The focus is on liberating leaders to be both powerful and human through Thriving leadership. EBLC participants will specifically develop a practical, hands-on approach that has shown an immediate and sustainable impact among our past clients.

How long does it take to see results?

Committed participants can expect an immediate impact, with many of our clients showing measurable results within 15 days of our "Fast Start" onboarding. The effects of the program accumulate, with our multi-modal methodology securing lasting and sustainable results over time.

What are the benefits of the EBLC program?

What is the curriculum structure?

The EBLC program is highly modular and flexible, with three main phases to ensure optimal learning, retention and implementation, as shown in the EBLC Blueprint below.

LAUNCH: The Launch phase sets EBLC participants up for optimal learning right away.

• Our Fast Start provides participants with immediate access to the EGG3 Leadership Assessment, personalised Instant Report and result-based micro-learning Pathway.

• The Insight phase includes the participant's personalised EGG3 Focus Report based on their EGG3 Leadership Assessment and live online EGG3 Team Debrief with EBLC creator and Master Facilitator Ian Hatton.

• The Live, Online Launch Workshop brings all participants together for orientation and an introduction to the program.

LEARN: The Learn phase delivers the theoretical content of the program with ongoing interaction and implementation.

• The Workbook is EGG Based Leadership: The Journal for Liberating Leaders by Ian Hatton. This series of 250 journalling prompts invites participants to reflect on 10 leadership focus areas across 3 dimensions of leadership and 5 leadership principles known as Leadership Liberators.

• The Micro-Learning Pathways address each of the 10 leadership focus areas. Each Pathway includes 15 steps, which consist of brief, 3-minute videos, each with a transcript and activity from the workbook.

• EBLC Workshops bring participants together live online to explore the 5 Leadership Liberators from our Building for Release™ Hand Model: Mindsets, Clarity, Genius, Wisdom and Ability. The 6th workshop on Storytelling introduces the Leadership Story with our Umbrella Storytelling Framework™. Each workshop includes a brief content segment followed by interactive breakout group discussions and consolidation.

LIBERATE: The Liberate phase invites each EBLC participant to demonstrate their measurable results throughout the program.

• Insight revisits the EGG3 Leadership Assessment, this time as an exit assessment. Participants complete the EGG3 Assessment, now with the insights of their learning and implementation, and receive their personalised EGG3 Focus Report with detailed results.

• Culmination includes the participant's submission of a culminating reflexive report and a leadership story video. The written report documents their growth and insights from the program with their planned implementation of these learnings moving forward. In the video, each participant tells their unique leadership story using the tools provided in the Storytelling Workshop and their learnings.

• Graduation is where we honour EBLC participants as we celebrate their growth and award their Essence Based Leader Certification. Upon graduation, the online community that has supported each other throughout this process joins the Totally Morpheus Alumni Network.

What about the time investment?

The Essence Based Leadership Certification (EBLC) is highly flexible and modular, with most of the content being self-paced. We recommend investing a minimum of 2-4 hours per week for the duration of the program. Although it is possible to complete the coursework faster, 12 months is an ideal time frame to experience optimal results. Participants can take up to 18 months from their date of registration to complete the program.

When can my leaders (or I!) start?

The inaugural Essence Based Leadership Certification (EBLC) cohort kicks off in the last week of April 2026.

Each participant receives onboarding materials with their immediate Fast Start activities upon successful registration.

Since the program is modular, new participants can start at any time, joining the next live, online Launch Workshop.
